Pros and cons of iMobileIntervals app for iPhone and iPad

iMobileIntervals app good for

I use it with my Wahoo Kickr, it can control the Erg mode. Easy to program interval training on the website. I am was impressed to get my question answered within minutes ? They really stand behind their product. The interface when doing the training is a bland white backgroind with black lettrr that look a bit outdated but the functionnalities are there. A must have companion to a Wahoo Kickr Good value
You are saving lots of $ by one time payment, avoiding monthly fee. But app looks a little outdated
The interface can use some polishing but superb in that u can really design very complex interval sessions.
This app is really cool. The telemetry feature really sets it apart. My friends and coach can track my rides and see my power/heart rate in real time. Badass! Wish it could run in the background, but Apple wont let it. I use an ANT+ stick from Wahoo. Cool technology, great app!
Just got a Wahoo KICKR for winter training. IMI works very well controlling the power of the KICKR resistance for consistent interval workouts. The KICKR power measures about 10W higher than my SRM, so being able to use a Watts offset helps keep the data accurate so when winter is over and I can do intervals outdoors again I shouldn’t feel like I was cheated over the winter months!
Not as polished as big players but handles everything you throw at it just fine. I use it to work out with Wahoo KICKR, I hooked up Wahoo RPM cadence sensor too. Its the only iPhone app I found that can do interval training. It has large library of public workouts, including ERG workouts for Sufferfest videos.

Some bad moments

My hope was that this would be a slight step up from the Wahoo software in that a bit of automation for interval load control would make workouts simple and sweet. This doesnt do it that I could figure out, which is the first point, overly complicated and full of jargon. I did get everything paired up and talking to each other but I had to control load steps manually. So no purpose to this thing really. Controlling load manually is tedious and thought out by a software designer who never uses the app obviously. To me, a someone who wants to push a few buttons and have a workout and not muck about with computers, this is app is a waste of time.
I have attempted several times to use this app and have failed each time. It has taken me hours to figure out how to create a workout only to find out that repeating intervals are not possible unless you manually enter them in. Stay away.....far away.
The application wont launch on my iPhone 4. I see the intro screen for less than a second before being sent back to the home screen. Ive closed all other applications, tried restarting, tried with and without the Wahoo ANT+ dongle, tried turning on and off various radios, just about everything I can think of to get this thing to work. Finally decided Id check out their website, but that too is down. Managed to use Google Webpage Archives to see an old copy of their site but couldnt find any support contact info, only a forum. I plan to keep an eye on their site in hopes it will come back up but I am not holding my breath. Hopefully their domain name records are public and I can do a whois and contact someone that way. Super let down though, I am leaving for gym in about an hour and have really gotten tired of the interval features on my watch. Features like those supposedly on this application were why I bought the chest strap for the iPhone in the first place.
Cant enter user ids In either the Garmin Connect, or the imi fields.
The app is mostly good, but some serious bugs keep it from being very useful. 1) During a field test ride, the communication with my RFLKT+ went wacky. The buttons worked, but no other data was displayed or recorded rendering my efforts useless for testing. 2) It will not connect to Garmin connect. It says my username/password is incorrect, but I have verified that it is not incorrect.
Contrary to description, the app does NOT upload to GC due to an authentication error. The dev claims this is due to Garmin changing the API, making 3rd party authentication impossible, yet other apps still manage to connect.
